Answer:
Yes. The current practice of getting government involved in marriages is the main problem, as well as the welfare provisions or entitlements that often come from being married. This amounts to a form of wealth redistribution which, then, offends those who oppose gay marriages–why should they be forced to fund something they object to. If they weren’t required to contribute to those benefits, I believe the libertarian approach would not upset most people.
